The workshop facilities are staffed 7 days a week including evenings by a team of helpful technicians. The tools in this shop allow for students to build professional plastic and wood structures. The CDES Digital Fabrication Laboratory features 4 Stratasys 3D Printers which are fuse-deposition modeling (FDM). These 3D printers allow students to make intricate precise physical protoypes from CAD models.
The CDES Digital Fabrication Laboratory features 6 Universal Laser Cutters which are ideal for quickly and precisely cutting thin material. Material for the laser cutter (include acrylic, cardboard, chipboard, and MDF) can be purchased on site at the student run material store.
The CDES Metal Shop features welding bays for MIG, TIG and gas welding, a plasma cutter, sheet metal tools, pipe bending, a mill, a lathe and a vacuum former.
The CDES Digital Fabrication Laboratory features 2 CNC Routers. These are large flat bed machines that can precisely mill away material from large sheets of wood, plastic and foam.
The CDES Imaging Lab provides students with the resources to produce photographs and videos in a studio setting. The Imaging Lab is staffed daily with knowledgeable attendants, and equipment can be rented out for use outside the lab.
